Good Samaritan Home offers 180 cottages (126 on the main Harrison Campus and 54 at Cherry Lanes Estates). These cottages are perfect for the active senior looking to downsize, while maintaining independent living. Cottages vary in size, style and price, but all offer the independence and privacy of having your own apartment . Rent for the one or two bedroom units include maintenance and utilities (except phone, internet, and cable). Cottagers are welcome to participate in activities at the home, such as aquatic exercise classes, fitness center, outings, entertainment, volunteer opportunities, beauty shop, and chapel. Buffet-style meals are available in the main building (for a small fee), and an emergency response nurse is just a phone call away. Cottagers are assured priority placement in Good Samaritan Home Shelter or Nursing Care, should the need arise.
A simple application places a person’s name on file, and establishes an application date for all services of the Good Samaritan Home. Application packets may be requested by calling or stopping by the Home. All cottages are rented on the basis of application date. Waiting times can vary greatly, but prospective cottagers are encouraged to apply early. For more information, contact Sarah Dolbeare, Cottage Admissions Director at 217-223-8717 ext. 4235.
