Volunteers are an integral part of the work of Good Samaritan Home!
Our volunteers help with day-to-day activities and special events at the Home. We are fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers who have given their time and talent to assist Good Samaritan Home to provide much needed services. This can be done with your help. We encourage you to “join our ranks” and discover for yourself the rich rewards of volunteering. Whether it be through our organized volunteer groups or individually, Good Samaritan Home has the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!
Make a friend. Make a difference. Not only will you provide companionship and friendship, you will build a lasting relationship with an older adult. This helps our residents stay social and connected to the community. We pair you up with one of our residents, and you just come visit and spend time with them. We ask that you commit one hour a week with your “adopted grandparent.” All volunteers will go through a short orientation & training process before starting the program.
Between 60 and 70 Youth Corps volunteers work each summer to enrich the lives of residents through special activities, courier services, and friendly visits. These pre-teens and teens bring an energy to the home that gives everyone a boost. Youth Corps is for caring “teens” from 12-16. After completing an application and orientation process, youth are scheduled to volunteer about two days each week.
