Assisted Living & Shelter Care

Assisted Living and Shelter Care cater to seniors who are mostly independent but may need a little extra help from day to day. Our neighborhoods in Stevenson Manor and Sheltering Grove allow residents to remain self-sufficient, with the security of knowing our 24-hour staff is just a call away. These rooms are unfurnished so residents can decorate to their taste to make it feel like home.

Three delicious buffet-style meals are served daily in our main dining room. Residents can visit with other residents during a cup of coffee or a game of pool in the Bartley Room. There is also an extensive activity program that includes outings, crafts, cooking, entertainment, and daily chapel services. Join a community where your neighbors quickly become friends and feel at home with us. All utilities and weekly housekeeping are included.

Assisted Living and Shelter Care are very similar but do vary slightly in services offered, cost, and payment methods available. Our Assisted Living apartments are located at the front of the building in Stevenson Manor. Each of these rooms has a kitchenette and full bathroom. In Assisted Living, residents can start out totally independent. Some of our residents even still drive! As the resident transitions into needing more care, their service plan can be adjusted. Good Samaritan offers three tiers of service and a la carte services. Assistance with personal care, bathing, medication management, and other activities of daily living are available. There is a staff member on duty 24/7 to assist these residents.

Our Shelter Care area is located by the Chapel, in Sheltering Grove. Each room has a bathroom, but residents use a communal shower room for baths and showers. There is a nurse on duty during the day and evening to administrate medications if needed. There is a call light in each room if assistance is required, 24 hours a day. Medicaid is accepted in Shelter Care.

Both Assisted Living and Shelter Care residents receive priority placement in nursing care if the need arises. Let our staff help you decide if Assisted Living or Shelter Care is the right fit for you or your loved one. Call our Admissions Office at 217-223-8717 for more information!
