News & Views from Campus: February 6th – February 12th

This and That…

-The Winter Olympics have begun! Check out all of the different events on NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and CNBC.

-We had a decent amount of snow this week, but nothing compared to our record-setting snow almost 10 years ago to the day. Quincy got almost 25 inches of snow on February 1st, 2011!

-In contrast, as we wish for warmer temps, the hottest recorded day in Quincy for the month was February 20th, 2017, when the temperature reached 77 degrees! Whew!

-Quincy Public and Parochial schools were closed Wednesday and Thursday of last week. But did you know, the two schools first began playing each other in football back in 1936? The series was halted by QND in 1952 because of “incidents” leading up to the annual game. Thankfully, the series resumed many years later (Go Devils!).

Prayer Request & Scripture

Psalm 16:1-8

“Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.  I say to The LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from You”…The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply…The LORD is my Chosen Portion and my Cup…I have set The LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
