On This Day In History….

May 23rd, 1934 – Notorious criminals Bonnie & Clyde are gunned down by Texas Rangers while driving a stolen car near Sailes, Louisiana.  

May 24th, 1883 – The Brooklyn Bridge opens over the East River. It was the largest suspension bridge ever built at the time.  

May 25th, 1977 – Star Wars opens on Memorial Day weekend. The film would go on to garner 7 Oscars, and gross $800 million worldwide.  

May 26th,1927  – Henry Ford and his son Edsel drive the 15 millionth Model T Ford out of their factory, marking the famous automobiles last day of production.

May 27th, 1941  – The British Navy sinks the pride of the German Navy, the battleship Bismarck, in the North Atlantic near France.  

May 28th, 1957 – Owners allow the New York Giants & Brooklyn Dodgers baseball teams to move to San Francisco & Los Angeles, MLB’s first west coast expansion.    

May 29th, 1953 – Sir Edmund Hillary becomes the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
