News & Views from Campus: March 20th – March 26th

This and That…

-Quincy is moving forward with installing a roundabout at 48th & state to keep traffic flowing. Roundabouts originated in Europe as early as 1877 (obviously for horse & carts), and were popularized in England & France. They’ve been gaining traction in the U.S. since 1990. Statistically, they’re safer for motorists & pedestrians, with 39% fewer auto accidents compared to traditional intersections.

-Quincy Community Theatre will formally dedicate the Barbara Rowell Auditorium on April 9th. Barbara was a resident here at Good Sam, and she was a life-long contributor to the vibrant arts scene we have here in Quincy. What an honor!

Keep an eye out for a special announcement to come in The Patter regarding the Possum Holler Opry which ran for a decade on WGEM beginning in 1960! This is right around the corner, and will feature our own Toby Elsenpeter, so you’ll want to make sure to catch it!
