The Patter

News & Views from Campus: November 4-10, 2018

Good Samaritan Home will be hosting a Soup Supper on Wednesday, November 7 from 4 to 7 pm in the Social Room. All proceeds will benefit the Employee Assistance Fund. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 10 and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the front desk, or at the door the night of the event. Chili, chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, dessert and drinks will be served. Carry-out is available.

The Employee Assistance Fund helps staff members who are facing extended time off of work due to an accident or medical condition, and those who are dealing with a catastrophic event such as a house fire or death in the family. This program is solely funded through donations and fundraisers. So far in 2018, the program has given out almost $9,000 to around 30 employees of the Home.

The committee is accepting donations of desserts and looking for volunteers. If you would like to help or for more information, contact Human Resources Director Missy Loos at 217-223-8717 ext. 4296 or We hope to see you there!

Prayer Request & Scripture

This week we are praying for the residents in McReynolds Center and for the Admissions Staff.

Our Scripture of the Week is Micah 7:7: “But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.”
